Description

Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial is one of the world’s most recognisable champagnes – a fresh, fruit-driven, and impeccably balanced Brut that has become a global benchmark. Presented here in an elegant gift box, it’s a refined, crowd-pleasing choice for celebrations, gifting, or elevating an everyday moment. True to the Moët style, this cuvée is all about harmony: vibrant fruit, fine bubbles, and a beautifully complete finish.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial shows a bright, pale golden colour with a fine, persistent mousse and lively streams of tiny bubbles. The nose is open and inviting, with aromas of crisp green apple, citrus zest, and white flowers, layered with notes of brioche, fresh butter, and a hint of almond from extended aging on the lees. On the palate, it is dry (Brut), yet generous and approachable, with juicy stone fruits, ripe pear, and citrus balanced by a clean, chalky freshness. Subtle pastry and toast add complexity without ever overpowering the wine’s fruit-driven core. The finish is precise and refreshing, making it easy to return to the glass. As a non-vintage Champagne drawing on reserve wines, it is designed to be enjoyed upon release but will hold and develop a little extra nuance over 2–4 years of careful cellaring.

Production
Brut Impérial is crafted from all three classic Champagne grape varieties – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier – sourced from a wide range of crus across the Champagne region. The diversity of terroirs, from chalk-rich slopes to cooler clay-limestone parcels, allows Moët to build a cuvée that is both consistent and complex year after year. Grapes are harvested by hand to preserve quality, then gently pressed and vinified separately by variety, cru, and parcel. Around 150 base wines, including a significant proportion of beautifully matured reserve wines from older vintages, are blended to achieve the house’s signature style. After secondary fermentation in bottle and extended aging on the lees, the wine is finished with a carefully judged Brut dosage to deliver that hallmark balance of freshness, fruit, and finesse.

Food & Serving
Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial is wonderfully versatile at the table. It pairs effortlessly with fresh oysters, sushi, and seafood platters, as well as light canapés, soft cheeses, and poultry dishes with delicate sauces. It’s also an excellent aperitif Champagne to serve on its own. For best enjoyment, serve well-chilled at 8–10°C. A brief 10–15 minutes in an ice bucket is ideal; decanting is not necessary, but pouring into proper flute or white wine glasses will help the aromas and fine mousse express themselves fully.

Producer
Founded in 1743, Moët & Chandon is one of Champagne’s most storied houses and a true global icon. Based in Épernay, with extensive vineyard holdings across the region’s finest crus, the house has played a central role in shaping Champagne as the world’s celebration wine. The term “Impérial” pays homage to Emperor Napoléon, a known admirer of Moët’s wines, and reflects the cuvée’s poised balance of alcohol, sugar, and acidity. Today, Moët & Chandon remains a leading producer, widely respected for its consistent quality, meticulous blending, and ability to deliver a signature style that is both luxurious and remarkably approachable. Notably, Brut Impérial regularly receives strong critical acclaim, including 91 points from Wine Spectator for its dependable quality and finesse.
