Description

Champagne Mailly Grand Cru Brut Rosé de Mailly is a refined, terroir-driven rosé Champagne from one of the region’s most coveted Grand Cru villages. Crafted predominantly from Pinot Noir with a dash of Chardonnay, it delivers both generosity and precision in the glass. Sourced from vineyards classified at the very top of the Champagne hierarchy, this cuvée captures the rare character and intensity that make Grand Cru fruit so sought-after.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Champagne shows a radiant rosé hue with copper-pink highlights and a fine, persistent mousse that forms a delicate crown of bubbles. The nose is expressive and seductive, opening with pure red berry aromas—think wild strawberries, redcurrants, raspberries and a hint of cranberry—layered with subtle floral notes and a touch of citrus zest. On the palate, Brut Rosé de Mailly is both generous and poised. The red fruit flavours are vivid and juicy, carried by a crisp acidity and a refined, creamy mousse. Ripe raspberry and strawberry dominate, with redcurrant adding lift and freshness, while a light mineral backbone and a whisper of spice bring definition to the finish. The structure is ample yet elegant, making this a rosé Champagne that is equally at home as an aperitif or at the table. Enjoy now for its vibrant fruit and finesse, though it will develop a little more complexity over the next few years in bottle.

Production
Mailly’s Grand Cru vineyards lie on the prized chalk slopes of the Montagne de Reims, where the combination of cool climate, chalk-rich soils and ideal sun exposure yields Pinot Noir and Chardonnay of exceptional concentration and finesse. Grapes are hand-harvested, parcel by parcel, at optimal ripeness to preserve freshness and aromatic purity. In the cellar, the must is gently pressed and vinified in temperature-controlled tanks to safeguard the delicate red-fruit character, with a portion of Pinot Noir providing the rosé colour and distinctive flavour profile. Following the creation of the final blend—90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay—the wine undergoes its secondary fermentation in bottle and is aged on lees for an extended period, developing texture, creaminess and fine, persistent bubbles before disgorgement and dosage.

Food & Serving
This Grand Cru rosé Champagne is a versatile partner at the table. It pairs beautifully with charcuterie, salmon tartare, tuna tataki, or lightly seared scallops, and is outstanding with dishes featuring duck, roast chicken with herbs, or even sushi and sashimi. Its red-berry profile also makes it a natural match for fresh goat cheese, soft-ripened cheeses, and berry-based desserts that are not overly sweet. Serve well-chilled at around 8–10°C. While decanting is not necessary, pouring into proper Champagne flutes or tulip-shaped glasses will best showcase the wine’s aromatic complexity and elegant mousse.

Producer
Located in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, Mailly is one of Champagne’s notable Grand Cru specialists, drawing exclusively from vineyards in the village of Mailly, classified at the highest level of the Champagne quality scale. Founded as a grower-based house, it has long championed the expression of its unique terroir, where Pinot Noir in particular reaches exceptional ripeness and character. Over the years, Mailly has gained a strong reputation among enthusiasts and sommeliers for producing Champagnes that combine depth, precision and authenticity, with its Grand Cru status underscoring the house’s importance within the region’s fine wine landscape.
