Description
Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut 2010 is a prestige cuvée from Champagne Ruinart, crafted entirely from Chardonnay sourced from some of the finest Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte des Blancs. This vintage is prized for its purity, precision, and remarkable finesse, showcasing the elegance that has long defined Ruinart’s style since the house was founded in 1729.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a pale, luminous gold with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose is layered and refined, with citrus zest, white flowers, and subtle brioche notes unfolding over a mineral backdrop. On the palate, it is dry and focused, yet generously expressive, combining bright acidity with a delicate creamy texture, fresh fruit, and a chalky, saline finish.
The Extra Brut dosage keeps the profile taut and transparent, allowing the complexity of the Chardonnay and the character of the vintage to shine through. While already highly expressive, it has the structure and balance to develop beautifully over time, gaining deeper pastry, honeyed, and toasted nuances with further cellar aging.
Production
Made from 100% Chardonnay, Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut 2010 comes from Grand Cru parcels in the Côte des Blancs, a terroir celebrated for its chalky soils and exceptional ability to produce mineral-driven white wines. The 2010 vintage benefited from a favorable growing season, helping the grapes reach excellent ripeness while preserving the vibrant acidity essential to great Champagne. Vinification is designed to preserve clarity and elegance, with low dosage used to highlight the wine’s natural tension, freshness, and aromatic detail.
Food & Serving
This Champagne pairs beautifully with oysters, scallops, caviar, sashimi, roast lobster, or delicate poultry dishes with light cream sauces. It also works well with aged hard cheeses or fine tempura thanks to its precision and freshness. Serve well chilled at around 8–10°C, and while decanting is not necessary, allowing it a few minutes in the glass can help раскрыe its aromatic complexity.
