Ceritas Charles Heintz Vineyard Chardonnay 2021 is a beautifully precise California Chardonnay that often tastes closer to top Grand Cru Chablis than to the richer style many expect from the region. Sourced from one of Sonoma Coast’s most respected vineyards, it combines intense mineral drive, lifted citrus fruit, and a striking sense of freshness—hallmarks that have made Charles Heintz Vineyard a benchmark site since the vines were planted in 1980.

Tasting Notes
Pale straw in the glass, this Chardonnay is poised and vibrant rather than weighty. The nose opens with a layered mix of pineapple, lemon, lime, grapefruit, and nectarine, alongside subtle menthol and crushed-stone notes that give it a cool, coastal feel. On the palate, it shows impressive energy and a strong mineral backbone, with green apple, citrus, melon, and a delicate touch of honey coming through. The finish is crisp and persistent, and while it is already drinking beautifully now, it has at least 5–6 years of excellent aging potential ahead of it.

The grapes come from Charles Heintz Vineyard, a highly regarded site in California known for producing fruit for some of the area’s finest winemakers. Planted in 1980, the vineyard benefits from a cool coastal terroir that naturally preserves acidity and encourages an elegant, mineral expression in Chardonnay.
