Casanova di Neri’s Brunello di Montalcino 2016 is a refined expression of Sangiovese from one of Tuscany’s most respected producers. First made in 1978, this white-label Brunello is prized for its elegance, precision, and remarkable aging potential, showing the house style at its most polished and expressive.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows a bright, clear red color and opens with an intense bouquet of fresh, youthful red berries and fruit. On the palate it is beautifully balanced, combining lively acidity with a creamy texture and a silky mouthfeel, while the tannins are exceptionally fine and precise. The finish feels almost endless, leaving a sense of finesse and freshness rather than weight. This is a Brunello built for the long haul, with the structure and depth to develop gracefully over many years in bottle.

Production
The grapes are harvested by hand between October 3 and 14, with careful selection performed both before and after destemming. Fermentation takes place naturally without added yeast in open, cone-shaped, temperature-controlled vats, and maceration lasts 23 days. The wine then matures for a further 43 months in wood before release, helping to build complexity while preserving the purity of the fruit and the character of Casanova di Neri’s Sangiovese.

Serve this Brunello with rich Tuscan dishes, roasted meats, game, braised beef, or mature hard cheeses. It is best enjoyed at around 16–18°C, and decanting for at least 1–2 hours is recommended, especially when young, to allow the wine to fully open.
