Subtle hints of almond, wet stone and a gentle saline breeze recall its hillside vineyards between the mountains and the sea. Casal Farneto’s vineyards sit centrally in Marche, between the Apennine mountains and the coastal city of Ancona, on sun-exposed hillsides that benefit from warm days, cool nights and constant ventilation. The soils here are predominantly calcareous-clay, ideal for Verdicchio, giving both freshness and structure to the wines. Grapes for Solustro are carefully harvested—often in the cooler hours—to preserve acidity and aromatic purity. In the cellar, the must is gently pressed and fermented at controlled, cool temperatures in stainless steel to highlight varietal character and terroir rather than oak influence. A period of maturation on fine lees adds texture, complexity and a soft, rounded mouthfeel while maintaining the wine’s crisp, modern profile.
