Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep golden color with amber tones, already hinting at its maturity. The nose is intense and layered, with ripe tropical fruit, dried apricot, honey, butter, toasted nuts, vanilla, and a subtle touch of spice. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with a creamy, almost oily texture and beautifully integrated acidity. Long oak aging and extended bottle maturation have given the wine notable complexity and a rounded structure, while the finish lingers with notes of caramel, nuts, mature fruit, and gentle spice. This is a wine at its peak now and best enjoyed in its current state of maturity.

Production
The grapes come from vineyards in the Franciacorta/Curtefranca area of Lombardy, where limestone and moraine-rich soils contribute structure, lift, and minerality. The 2003 vintage was marked by extreme heat across Europe, producing very ripe fruit with high concentration; Ca’ del Bosco adapted harvest timing and winemaking carefully to preserve balance. Fermentation and aging took place in oak barrels, followed by a long period of bottle aging that further integrated the wine and softened its textures.

Food & Serving
This mature Chardonnay is an excellent match for rich seafood dishes, roast chicken, lobster with butter sauce, veal, creamy pasta, or mushroom-based dishes. Serve at 11–13 °C, and if possible, open the bottle a little before serving to let the wine fully unfold; decanting is generally not necessary, but can be helpful if you want to separate any sediment or give the aromas a gentle lift.
