Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Barbaresco typically shows a bright garnet hue with ruby highlights, reflecting the classic profile of Nebbiolo. The nose is refined and expressive, with layers of red cherry, wild berries, rose petal, and hints of licorice, spice, and earth. On the palate, it is elegant and structured, with firm but polished tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, savory finish. The wine balances freshness and depth beautifully, and while it is already very attractive, it has the concentration and structure to develop gracefully over many years.

Production
Barbaresco Pora is drawn from a historic cru in Piedmont, where the hillside terroir and well-exposed vineyard sites are especially well suited to Nebbiolo’s slow ripening cycle. The wine is made from carefully harvested grapes and vinified separately to preserve the identity of the site, a decision that highlighted the cru’s quality from the first vintage in 2004.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for roast lamb, veal, mushroom risotto, truffle dishes, and aged hard cheeses. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if opening young, to help soften the tannins and open up the aromatics.
