Tasting Notes
Bright ruby-red with a purple rim, this LBV opens with inviting aromas of wild berries, plums, and a subtle balsamic note. On the palate, the same dark-fruit character carries through, framed by a smooth, generous texture and firm tannins that give the wine both depth and definition. It is complex yet accessible, with enough structure to hold its shape for several years in bottle. While ready to drink now, it can continue to develop additional softness and nuance with short- to medium-term cellaring.

Production
Burmester’s roots trace back to 1730, when Henry Burmester and John Nash founded a grain business in London before moving operations to Vila Nova de Gaia in 1750 and entering the Port trade. Although specific vineyard details for this bottling are not provided, the wine comes from Porto DOP and follows the traditional Late Bottled Vintage style, which typically involves a longer maturation period in cask before bottling to create a more approachable yet structured Port.

Food & Serving
This LBV is an excellent match for rich meat dishes such as peppered filet mignon or veal with Béarnaise sauce, where its fruit and tannins complement savory depth. It also works beautifully with cheese, including Camembert, and can be paired with chocolate-based desserts or combinations featuring mint, pear, and chocolate. Serve slightly cool, ideally around 16–18°C, and decanting is recommended if sediment is present.
