Description
Bollinger La Grande Année 2015 is a vintage Champagne that showcases the house’s signature depth, structure, and complexity. Crafted only in outstanding years, it stands out for its precision, richness, and unmistakably Bollinger style, making it a benchmark bottle for collectors and Champagne lovers alike.
Tasting Notes
Expect a refined golden hue with a persistent, fine mousse. The nose opens with layered aromas of ripe orchard fruit, citrus zest, toasted brioche, hazelnut, and subtle spice, reflecting both vintage character and extended cellar aging.
On the palate, it is layered and textural, combining freshness with impressive intensity. Notes of white stone fruit, lemon curd, baked apple, almond, and mineral tones lead to a long, elegant finish. With its structure and balance, it has excellent aging potential and will continue to evolve beautifully over time.
Production
La Grande Année is produced only from selected parcels in exceptional vintages, sourced from some of the finest terroirs in Champagne. Bollinger is known for its emphasis on Pinot Noir, careful vineyard selection, and traditional winemaking methods that bring depth and complexity to the final wine.
The wine is vinified in a combination of small stainless-steel tanks and oak barrels, with extended lees aging to build richness and finesse. This vintage expression reflects both the character of 2015 and the house’s meticulous approach to craftsmanship.
Food & Serving
This Champagne pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as lobster, scallops, roast chicken, truffle risotto, or sushi. It also works well with aged hard cheeses and dishes featuring rich, creamy sauces. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C, and while decanting is not necessary, a short rest in the glass can help the aromas open up.
Producer
Founded in 1829, Bollinger is one of Champagne’s most respected houses, renowned for its powerful, Pinot Noir-driven style and commitment to quality. Based in Aÿ, the producer has built a strong reputation for wines with depth, longevity, and elegance.
Bollinger is widely recognized as one of the great names of Champagne, with La Grande Année standing among its most celebrated cuvées. Its consistent acclaim reflects both the house’s heritage and its dedication to traditional, detail-oriented production.
