Bognæs Vingaard’s Ro 2023 is a fresh and elegant Danish white wine that captures the bright, breezy side of Sjælland. Made from Solaris and Souvignier Gris, it combines crisp fruit, floral lift, and a clean mineral edge, showing how well these modern varieties can express the Danish climate. Its name is a nod to the calm and balance that followed a dramatic harvest season.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, Ro shows a pale, youthful colour and an inviting clarity. The nose is delicate and floral, with white blossoms leading into notes of gooseberry, crisp green apple, and a subtle hint of tropical fruit. The palate is light-footed and finely balanced, with lively acidity and a refreshing, almost saline cleanliness. Green fruit and a touch of exotic ripeness give it character without losing its freshness. With its stainless-steel maturation and bright structure, it is best enjoyed young for its pure, expressive fruit, though it should hold nicely over the short term.

Production
Ro is made from 80% Solaris and 20% Souvignier Gris, two disease-resistant grape varieties well suited to the cool Danish conditions of Sjælland. After harvest, the wine was fermented and matured for seven months in stainless steel tanks, a vinification choice that preserves freshness, aromatic precision, and the wine’s clean, linear style.

Food & Serving
This is a versatile white wine for seafood, shellfish, fresh summer salads, and light vegetarian dishes such as asparagus, herbed risotto, or goat cheese tart. Serve chilled, ideally at 8–10°C, and there is no need to decant; simply open and enjoy its lively aromatic profile.
