Tasting Notes
Deep ruby in the glass, this Pinot Noir immediately draws you in with a lifted, expressive aroma of wild blackberry, Santa Rosa plum, and strawberry, layered with savory hints of oregano, sage, and white pepper. The palate is smooth and inviting, driven by ripe raspberry, boysenberry, and blueberry, with accents of nutmeg, cinnamon, and black tea adding depth and complexity. The wine is crafted to be immediately appealing, but it should also hold nicely over the next few years as its fruit and spice notes continue to knit together. Its supple structure and oak influence give it enough dimension for short- to medium-term cellaring.

Production
The fruit comes from prized sites in the Russian River Valley, a region known for its cool-climate influence, foggy mornings, and ideal conditions for Pinot Noir. Joe Wagner is closely involved in vineyard care, and after fermentation the wine matured for 9 months in French oak barrels, 60% of them new, which helped build texture, spice, and a rounder mouthfeel without overpowering the fruit.
