Deep and concentrated in the glass, this Cabernet Sauvignon shows classic dark colour and impressive depth. The nose opens with wild berries, blackcurrant, spice, cedar, and tobacco, leading into a palate of blackberry, bay leaf, pepper, and ripe plum. The wine is layered and structured, yet remains polished and graceful rather than overly heavy. Its long, intense finish suggests excellent development potential, and while approachable in its youth, it should gain additional complexity with cellar aging.

Boekenhoutskloof is based in Franschhoek, a historic South African wine region founded by French Huguenot settlers, and the estate draws on that heritage while also taking inspiration from the great vineyards of northern Rhône. Marc Kent, the longtime winemaker, is known for his meticulous approach and for bringing a distinctive sense of place to the estate’s top wines. The vineyards benefit from Franschhoek’s warm climate and varied terroir, which help produce ripe, concentrated Cabernet Sauvignon with balance and freshness; vinification is focused on preserving purity, structure, and varietal character.

This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs beautifully with grilled ribeye, roast lamb, venison, beef short ribs, and dishes with earthy or peppery accents. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for about 1 hour if drinking young to allow the wine to खुल open fully and show its layered aromatics and structure.
