Made from 100% Tempranillo, it is crafted to be approachable now while still reflecting the power and character that have made this Spanish classic so respected.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, Hito 2024 shows a deep cherry-red color with violet highlights. The nose is expressive and inviting, opening with ripe red and dark berries such as raspberry, blackberry, and blueberry, followed by liquorice, gentle spice, and subtle toasted oak. On the palate, it is juicy and full-bodied with soft tannins, lively acidity, and excellent balance. The fruit remains front and center, while the finish brings touches of dark chocolate and balsamic nuance. It is drinking beautifully now, though it should gain additional harmony over the next few years.

Production
Hito 2024 comes from Bodegas Cepa 21’s vineyards around Castrillo de Duero in Castilla y León, where the high-altitude setting and calcareous clay-and-stone soils help preserve freshness while building concentration. The grapes are harvested from 100% Tempranillo vines and vinified with temperature-controlled fermentation to protect purity of fruit, then aged for around 8 months in French oak barrels for added structure and finesse.

Food & Serving
This is a versatile red that pairs well with grilled lamb, roast pork, beef dishes, mature cheeses, and richly seasoned tapas. Serve it at 16–18°C, and decanting for 30 minutes is recommended if you want to open up its aromas and soften the oak-driven edge when young.
