Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Reserva shows an intense ruby color that hints at its concentration and vitality. The nose is layered and complex, with ripe red and dark berries, subtle herbal notes, and a refined oak influence from 18 months in new French barrels. The palate is structured yet fresh, delivering generous fruit wrapped in mature tannins and a beautifully balanced frame. The finish is long and persistent, suggesting excellent cellaring potential for those who enjoy Rioja with both power and finesse.

Production
The grapes come from high-altitude parcels in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, where limestone and clay soils, along with old Tempranillo vines over 45 years of age, contribute concentration, freshness, and depth. Harvesting is done entirely by hand, with careful berry-by-berry selection to ensure an exceptionally clean fruit profile. Winemaking at Baigorri is carried out with technical precision and a gentle touch, including spontaneous fermentation, natural pumping-over, and gravity-fed handling throughout the cellar. This approach preserves purity of fruit while allowing the character of the terroir to come through clearly in the finished wine.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for grilled beef, lamb, roast meats, and rich dishes with deep savory flavors. Serve at 16-18°C, and decanting for 1-2 hours is recommended to help the wine open up and reveal its full complexity.
