Blank Canvas Anandale Vineyard Riesling 2024 is a beautifully balanced, low-alcohol Riesling from Marlborough that captures both purity and complexity. Sourced entirely from the sustainably farmed Anandale Farm vineyard, it offers a more refined take on off-dry Riesling than the label might first suggest, with a style that reflects the coastal freshness and cool-climate energy of the site.

Tasting Notes
Pale and luminous in the glass, this Riesling opens with an expressive nose of lemon, lime, white peach, elderflower, and honeysuckle. There’s a lifted, almost aromatic brightness to it that makes the wine feel especially vibrant and inviting. The palate is precise and juicy, showing flavors of fresh lemonade, green apple, grapefruit, lime, and a subtle mineral edge of wet stones. A fine line of acidity keeps the gentle sweetness in perfect balance, giving the wine a clean, focused finish and very good aging potential for a Riesling of this style.

Production
All fruit comes from Anandale Farm in Marlborough, a sustainably managed vineyard close to the sea where the cool maritime climate and well-suited soils help preserve freshness, aromatics, and natural acidity. The 2024 vintage was crafted by Matt Thomson to highlight the site’s expressive character and the finesse of Riesling, with careful winemaking aimed at retaining purity, lift, and texture.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for spicy Asian dishes, citrus-driven seafood, fresh goat’s cheese, or lightly sweet-and-sour preparations where the wine’s gentle sweetness and acidity can shine. Serve well chilled at around 8–10°C; decanting is not necessary, though a few minutes in the glass will allow the aromatics to open beautifully.
