Berlucchi ’61 Franciacorta Nature 2019 is a refined zero-dosage sparkling wine that showcases the pure, unadorned style of Franciacorta at its best. Made from 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir, it reflects both Berlucchi Guido’s pioneering role in Italian sparkling wine and the craftsmanship that helped put Franciacorta on the map.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows an intense straw-yellow color with subtle antique-gold reflections. The bouquet is elegant and layered, opening with saffron and unfolding into bergamot, candied lemon, ripe yellow fruit, and brioche crust, all lifted by hints of star anise over a flinty, mineral backdrop. On the palate, it is remarkably balanced, with a strong structural core, vibrant acidity, and a long, savory finish. The absence of dosage gives it extra precision and tension, while its concentration suggests excellent aging potential for those who enjoy Franciacorta with depth and complexity.

Production
The grapes come from selected vineyards in Arzelle, Rovere, San Carlo, and Ragnoli, areas that contribute freshness, finesse, and minerality to the blend. After fermentation in stainless steel and aging in barrel, the wine spends at least five years on the lees, followed by a further six months after disgorgement, allowing it to develop its layered texture and signature complexity.

Food & Serving
This Franciacorta is ideal with refined dishes such as oysters, caviar, sashimi, shellfish, seafood risotto, or delicate white meats. Serve it well chilled at around 8–10°C, and decanting is not recommended; instead, open shortly before serving to preserve its freshness and effervescence.
