Made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, it combines taut freshness, concentrated fruit, and a firm structural backbone, with a distinct sense of place shaped by high-altitude vineyards and calcareous soils.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright, elegant character with fine bubbles and a restrained, polished profile. The nose is fresh and direct, with layered citrus, white fruit, subtle floral notes, and a delicate savory-spicy nuance from the limestone-rich soils. On the palate, it is tight and open-hearted at once, with dense juiciness, vibrant acidity, and a clean, structured finish. The Extra Brut style keeps the wine focused and pure, while the high vineyard sites help preserve freshness and length. It has the balance and backbone to develop further in bottle over the next few years.

Production
A portion of the grapes comes from Pian delle Viti, Barone Pizzini’s highest vineyards, a site historically known as Valle Sospesa, or “the Hanging Valley.” The area is shaped mainly by marine origins, with only partial glacial influence, and its calcareous soils contribute a subtle spicy edge and strong mineral definition. The wine is crafted in the Franciacorta method with careful vineyard selection and vinification designed to preserve precision, structure, and terroir expression.

Food & Serving
This Franciacorta works beautifully with oysters, shellfish, delicate seafood dishes, sashimi, risotto with herbs, and light poultry preparations. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C. Decanting is not necessary; instead, open and pour to enjoy its freshness and fine mousse at its best.
