Description

Baron Albert Champagne Blanc de Blancs Terroir D’Or Brut is a refined, Chardonnay-driven Champagne crafted to showcase the purest expression of chalky Champagne terroir. Made exclusively from white grapes, this Blanc de Blancs delivers a precise, mineral style that feels both elegant and refreshingly modern. Its ‘Terroir D’Or’ name nods to the “golden” character of its vineyards, where Chardonnay thrives on cool slopes and limestone soils, giving this cuvée its signature finesse and brightness.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Champagne shows a pale straw color with glints of green and a fine, persistent mousse that speaks to careful aging on the lees. The nose is delicate and lifted, offering notes of crisp green apple, lemon zest, white flowers, and freshly baked brioche, with a subtle chalky, saline edge that is distinctly Champagne. On the palate, Terroir D’Or Brut is dry, vibrant, and finely textured, with a lively citrus core wrapped in flavors of pear, golden apple, and a hint of almond. The Chardonnay brings tension and precision, balanced by a creamy mid-palate from extended lees contact. The finish is long, mineral, and mouthwatering, making it as suitable for thoughtful sipping as it is for celebrations. As a non-vintage Champagne, it is crafted for immediate enjoyment but will hold nicely for a few years in the cellar, gaining a touch more creaminess and complexity over time.

Production
Baron Albert sources the Chardonnay for Terroir D’Or from carefully selected parcels in the Champagne region of France, where cool climate and chalk-rich soils provide the ideal conditions for finely structured Blanc de Blancs. Grapes are harvested by hand to ensure optimal ripeness and gentle handling, preserving their natural acidity and aromatic purity. In the cellar, the must is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel to retain freshness, followed by blending across vintages to achieve a consistent house style. The wine then undergoes its second fermentation in bottle and is aged on the lees, developing texture, subtle brioche notes, and persistent bubbles before disgorgement and dosage to Brut level.

Food & Serving
This Blanc de Blancs is exceptionally food-friendly and shines with classic Champagne pairings such as freshly shucked oysters, scallop crudo, sushi, and caviar. Its crisp acidity and mineral backbone also complement creamy goat’s cheese, delicate white fish, roast chicken with lemon, or light vegetable terrines. Serve well-chilled at around 8–10°C (46–50°F) to accentuate its freshness and precision. A brief 10–15 minutes in the glass or in a decanter designed for sparkling wine can help the aromas open up, but extended decanting is not necessary—pour into quality flutes or white wine glasses and enjoy.
