Barbanera’s Gigino 80 Anniversario Grande 2019 is a tribute wine created to honor Luigi Barbanera, affectionately known as “Gigino,” whose passion helped shape more than 80 years of family winemaking. It blends tradition and modern oenological craft into a rich, expressive Tuscan red with remarkable depth, balance, and elegance.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows an intense color that can lean toward deep purple tones. The nose is generous and fruit-driven, opening with ripe red and black berries, blueberry, wild blackberry, black cherry, and fruit in spirit, then unfolding into finer notes of white chocolate, vanilla, caramel, roasted spices, and a touch of dark coffee. On the palate, it is full-bodied, structured, and persistent, yet refined enough to remain smooth and polished. The tannins are soft and well integrated, supporting a long finish marked by dried fruit, bitter chocolate, and arabica coffee. It has the concentration and balance to develop nicely over time, especially if cellared for a few years.

Food & Serving
Ideal with roasted meats, grilled beef, braised dishes, game, and mature hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C for the best expression of its aromas and texture. Decanting for 30–60 minutes is recommended to help the wine open up and show its full aromatic complexity.
