Banfi Alta Langa Cuvée Aurora Extra Brut is a refined sparkling wine from Piedmont’s prestigious Alta Langa DOCG, crafted in the traditional method with 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. Aged on the lees for at least 40 months, it shows the elegance, depth, and precision that have made Alta Langa one of Italy’s most exciting sparkling wine regions.

Tasting Notes
Straw-yellow in the glass, this Extra Brut offers a fine, persistent bead and an expressive bouquet with notes of yeast, vanilla, and delicate pastry-like nuances. On the palate it is well-structured and full-bodied, with bright freshness, a harmonious balance, and a savoury finish touched by a subtle bitter note that adds character and length. Thanks to its lees ageing, it has the complexity to drink beautifully now while also maintaining good short- to medium-term cellaring potential.

Production
Produced in Piedmont under the Alta Langa DOCG, this sparkling wine reflects the region’s cool climate and hillside terroir, both ideal for preserving acidity and building aromatic finesse. The grapes are vinified using the classic method, with secondary fermentation in bottle followed by extended ageing on the lees for at least 40 months, which contributes to its creamy texture, depth, and refined mousse.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled, ideally at 6–8°C, as an aperitif or alongside oysters, raw seafood, shellfish, and delicately prepared fish starters and first courses. Decanting is not recommended; instead, open shortly before serving to preserve its freshness and lively perlage.
