Ampelos Cellars’ 2021 Piquette is a bright, playful take on the lightly sparkling, low-alcohol styles that long predate modern Champagne methods. Made from Grenache and Syrah, it offers a refreshing, fruit-forward profile with a lively fizz that makes it an ideal thirst-quencher for warm days and casual gatherings.

Tasting Notes
Pale rosé in the glass with a delicate, persistent sparkle, this wine is all about freshness and energy. The nose opens with lifted aromas of strawberry, cherry, and raspberry, supported by a clean, breezy character that keeps the fruit feeling vivid rather than sweet. On the palate, it is juicy and brisk, with red berry flavors taking the lead and a crisp, refreshing acidity that keeps every sip light on its feet. The finish is easygoing and mouthwatering, making this a style best enjoyed young, while its charm is at its brightest and most vibrant.

Production
This cuvée is made from a blend of Grenache and Syrah, crafted in a style inspired by the traditional pétillant naturel approach. A small addition of sugar and yeast triggers a second fermentation in the bottle, and the wine is sealed with a crown cap to preserve the natural carbon dioxide that gives it its gentle sparkle.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled, ideally around 6–8°C, to highlight its refreshing acidity and lively mousse. It works beautifully with charcuterie, salty snacks, grilled prawns, fresh salads, summer vegetables, or simply as an aperitif. No decanting is needed—just open and enjoy while it’s crisp and energetic.
