Ampelos Cellars’ 2021 Clairette Blanche is a bright, personality-driven white wine that lets the grape take center stage. Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a pale straw-yellow color that hints at its lively, sunny style. The nose is fragrant and inviting, with ripe orchard fruit, citrus, and lemon grass layered over a subtle mineral note. The palate is crisp and expressive, balancing juicy fruit with refreshing acidity and a clean, saline edge. Because it avoids malolactic fermentation, the wine retains a vivid, energetic profile that stays focused and mouthwatering through the finish. Best enjoyed young for its freshness, though it should hold nicely for a few years as it develops more texture and complexity.

The grapes come from Santa Barbara County in California, where the climate helps Clairette retain its natural brightness and aromatic lift. Ampelos Cellars works with a gentle, low-intervention approach: the wine is naturally fermented with wild yeasts and vinified slowly at cool temperatures for over a month to preserve purity and fruit intensity. Before bottling, it is filtered for clarity and a polished finish.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for light, fresh dishes such as grilled fish, shellfish, ceviche, or summer salads with goat cheese and peach. Serve well chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, to highlight its crisp acidity and citrus-driven character. Decanting is not necessary.
