Altemasi Trento Rosé Riserva 2017 is a refined sparkling rosé from the cool Alpine vineyards of Trentino, crafted in the traditional method to rival some of the finest classic sparklers. Blending Chardonnay with Pinot Nero, it delivers elegance, depth and precision in every glass. As a Trento DOC, it showcases the unique character of high-altitude Italian sparkling wine, where mountain freshness meets meticulous craftsmanship.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Rosé Riserva shows a delicate, shimmering salmon-pink hue with copper reflections and an exceptionally fine, persistent mousse. The nose is inviting and complex: wild strawberries, redcurrants and pomegranate are layered with notes of blood orange, rose petals, fresh brioche and a subtle mineral edge. On the palate, it is dry, precise and beautifully structured, with vibrant acidity balanced by a creamy texture from extended lees aging. Flavors of crunchy red berries, citrus zest and white peach harmonise with hints of toasted nuts and pastry, leading to a long, savory and refreshingly mineral finish. The 2017 vintage has the backbone to age gracefully for several more years, gaining further complexity and nuance while retaining its lively freshness.

Production
Sourced from carefully selected hillside vineyards in Trentino Alto Adige, Altemasi Trento Rosé Riserva benefits from a true mountain terroir: high altitudes, significant day–night temperature swings and well-drained, predominantly calcareous and dolomitic soils. Grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness to preserve acidity and aromatic purity, with Pinot Nero providing structure and delicate color, and Chardonnay contributing finesse and lift. After gentle pressing, the base wines are vinified separately, then blended and refermented in bottle following the traditional metodo classico. The wine rests on its lees for an extended period, allowing fine perlage to develop and complex autolytic notes to emerge before disgorgement and a final period of bottle refinement.

Altemasi Trento Rosé Riserva 2017 is a versatile partner at the table, pairing beautifully with salmon tartare, tuna carpaccio, shellfish, sushi and sashimi, as well as charcuterie, poultry dishes and soft to semi-hard cheeses. It also complements Mediterranean cuisine, from grilled vegetables to delicate risottos. Serve well-chilled at around 6–8°C to highlight its freshness and fine bubbles. A brief 10–15 minutes in the glass or in an open bottle is sufficient for it to unfold its full aromatic range; decanting is not necessary, but avoiding over-chilling will help reveal its complexity.
