Alta Mora Etna Rosso 2023 is a vibrant expression of Nerello Mascalese from the volcanic slopes of Mount Etna, one of Italy’s most distinctive wine regions. Elegant, mineral-driven and beautifully lifted, it captures the tension between red-fruited freshness and smoky volcanic character that has made Etna a benchmark for distinctive Sicilian reds.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a bright ruby-red color with a translucent, graceful appearance rather than deep concentration. The nose is fragrant and refined, offering notes of wild strawberry, sour cherry, redcurrant, dried herbs, rose petals and a subtle smoky, ashy minerality. The palate is precise and energetic, with fine tannins, lively acidity and a savoury core that gives the wine its signature Etna personality. The finish is long, fresh and mineral, with red fruit and spice lingering красиво; while enjoyable young, it should also gain complexity over the next few years.

Production
Made from Nerello Mascalese grown on the volcanic soils of Mount Etna in Sicily, where altitude, dramatic temperature shifts and mineral-rich terrain help preserve freshness and aromatic detail. The grapes are generally harvested by hand to protect fruit quality, then vinified with a focus on preserving purity, delicacy and the grape’s natural structure.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for grilled lamb, roasted pork, mushroom dishes, tomato-based pasta, and Sicilian-style charcuterie or aged cheeses. Serve slightly below room temperature, ideally around 16–18°C, and consider a brief decant if opening it young to help the aromatics open up.
