Almaviva Puente Alto 2019 is a polished Chilean red from one of the country’s most celebrated estates, offering the depth and precision that have made this label a benchmark for Bordeaux-style blends in South America. Sourced from the prestigious Puente Alto zone in the Maipo Valley, it combines ripe dark fruit, elegant structure, and a refined sense of balance that reflects both its terroir and its flagship status.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep dark ruby color. The nose is expressive and concentrated, with aromas of raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry, and wild strawberry, lifted by subtle hints of licorice and gentle spice. On the palate, the wine is smooth and harmonious, with supple tannins, vibrant acidity, and excellent length. The finish is persistent and refined, suggesting strong aging potential and the ability to develop further complexity over time.

Production
Almaviva comes from Puente Alto, one of Chile’s most prized terroirs for premium red wine, where the stony soils and cool influence of the Andes help preserve freshness and structure. The blend is built from Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Merlot, and the grapes are typically harvested by hand to ensure careful selection of ripe fruit. Vinification is carried out with precision to preserve aromatic purity, balance, and the layered character that defines the wine.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for grilled beef, lamb, venison, roast duck, and richly flavored dishes such as mushroom risotto or slow-braised short ribs. Serve at around 16–18°C. Decanting for about 1–2 hours is recommended, especially if drinking young, to allow the wine’s aromatics and texture to open fully.
