Alter Ego de Palmer is the vibrant second wine of Château Palmer, offering a more immediate and generous expression of this celebrated Margaux estate. From one of Bordeaux’s most admired properties, it combines elegance, freshness, and polished tannins in a style that makes fine Left Bank wine especially approachable in its youth.

Tasting Notes
Expect a deep ruby color with purple highlights. The nose is expressive and refined, with notes of black cherry, plum, violet, cedar, and a subtle spicy lift that reflects its Bordeaux origin. On the palate, it is supple and layered, with ripe dark fruit, fresh acidity, and finely woven tannins that give the wine both energy and structure. While already appealing in its youth, it should also develop gracefully over the next several years, gaining more complexity and texture with time.

Produced in Margaux on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, Alter Ego de Palmer benefits from the estate’s exceptional gravelly terroir, which helps the vines ripen evenly while preserving freshness. The 2025 vintage is crafted with careful parcel selection and meticulous vineyard work, followed by traditional vinification tailored to highlight purity of fruit and a more supple, approachable profile than the Grand Vin.

Food & Serving
Serve with roast duck, lamb, beef tenderloin, mushroom dishes, or truffle-infused cuisine. Ideal serving temperature is 16–18°C. Decanting for 30–60 minutes is recommended if opened young to allow the wine to fully open and soften.
