Tasting Notes
Expect a bright, pale straw color with shimmering green highlights. The nose is finely etched and expressive, offering citrus blossom, white peach, lime zest, crushed stone, herbs, and a distinct flinty mineral note. On the palate, it is concentrated yet remarkably taut, with vibrant acidity, salty mineral tension, and a long, layered finish. The wine’s balance of fruit purity and structural drive suggests excellent aging potential, rewarding cellaring with added complexity over the next decade or more.

Kirchspiel is one of Westhofen’s most celebrated vineyard sites, defined by limestone soils and excellent exposure that help produce Rieslings of both power and precision. Weingut Wittmann farms its vineyards organically and biodynamically, with careful hand harvesting to preserve fruit integrity and allow only the healthiest grapes into the cellar. Vinification is done with a gentle, minimal-intervention approach to highlight the vineyard’s character and the natural freshness of the 2024 vintage.
