Tasting Notes
Pale straw in the glass with a bright, polished sheen, this Weißburgunder opens with aromas of pear, yellow apple, citrus zest, white flowers, and a subtle almond note. A gentle spice and a faint stony edge round out the bouquet. On the palate, it feels crisp, juicy, and finely layered, with ripe acidity, a creamy mid-palate from lees aging, and a distinctly saline mineral finish. The wine’s balance of freshness and texture gives it excellent drinkability now, while its structure suggests it can develop nicely over the next few years, gaining further depth and complexity.

Production
The grapes come from Franconia, where Muschelkalk limestone soils lend the wine its signature mineral backbone, finesse, and subtle salinity. The fruit was selectively hand-harvested and gently pressed before undergoing spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, partly in stainless steel and partly in oak. Several months on the full lees added breadth, creaminess, and complexity without softening the wine’s vibrant core.

This Weißburgunder is a versatile food wine, ideal with grilled fish, poultry, asparagus, mild cheeses, and vegetable-forward dishes. It is best served lightly chilled at around 8–10°C, and decanting is not necessary.
