Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby color with a bright, youthful sheen. The nose opens with ripe blackberries, cassis, and plum, layered with cedar, warming spice, and a subtle toasty note from the oak. On the palate, the wine feels supple and well-structured, with polished tannins, lively freshness, and a core of dense dark fruit. The finish is long and graceful, with fine spice and balanced depth, and it should continue to develop nicely over the next several years.

Production
Château d’Aiguilhe comes from limestone- and clay-rich plateaus and slopes east of Saint-Émilion, terroir that brings freshness, definition, and a natural sense of depth to the wine. The grapes are hand-harvested and vinified parcel by parcel, with temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel and concrete, followed by 12–15 months in French oak barrels with a restrained proportion of new oak.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for roasted beef, lamb, game, and richly sauced dishes, as well as mature cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C; decanting for about 30–60 minutes is recommended if enjoying the wine young to help it open up.
