The grapes for Le Lombard come from steep, terraced vineyards in the northern Rhône’s Saint-Joseph appellation, rooted in poor, granite-based soils that naturally limit yields and intensify flavor. Fruit is typically picked by hand to allow precise selection and to protect the delicate berries, often harvested parcel by parcel to capture optimum ripeness. In the cellar, Yves Cuilleron is known for a thoughtful, modern-leaning but artisanal approach: gentle pressing, temperature-controlled fermentations, and élevage in a mix of tanks and barrels (often with some lees contact and occasional bâtonnage) to build texture and complexity without overwhelming the natural character of the fruit or the terroir.

This white Saint-Joseph is a natural partner for refined, flavor-packed dishes such as seared scallops, grilled prawns, roasted poultry, veal in a light cream sauce, or richer seafood preparations like turbot or halibut with beurre blanc.
