Description

The 2023 Antoine Jobard Meursault is a classic expression of one of Burgundy’s most celebrated white wine villages, crafted by a highly regarded Meursault estate known for precision, restraint, and remarkable depth. This is a wine that captures both the generosity of Meursault and the mineral backbone that makes the best examples so compelling over time.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a bright golden straw color with excellent clarity. On the nose, expect refined aromas of citrus zest, white flowers, ripe orchard fruit, and subtle notes of hazelnut, lees, and wet stone. The palate is poised and layered, balancing ripe fruit with vibrant acidity, a fine-textured mouthfeel, and a long mineral finish. While already attractive in youth, it should gain even more complexity with bottle age, developing greater nuance, nuttiness, and depth over the next several years.

Production
Sourced from Meursault in the heart of Burgundy, the wine reflects the region’s limestone-rich soils and cool-climate conditions, which help preserve freshness and structure. Antoine Jobard is known for careful, traditional vineyard work and a restrained vinification style that emphasizes site expression rather than overt winemaking. The result is a wine marked by purity, tension, and a clear sense of place.

Food & Serving
This Meursault pairs beautifully with lobster, roasted chicken, creamy fish dishes, veal, and dishes with mushroom or beurre blanc sauces. Serve it lightly chilled, around 11–13°C, to allow the aromas and texture to unfold. Decanting is not usually necessary for a young bottle, but a short aeration can help open it up if enjoyed early.

Producer
Antoine Jobard is one of Meursault’s most respected producers, carrying on a family name long associated with classic white Burgundy. The estate is admired for its understated, terroir-driven style and for producing wines that combine concentration with exceptional finesse. Its reputation in the region is built on consistency, elegance, and wines that age beautifully.

Antoine Jobard is among the most respected producers in Meursault and is known for wines that prioritize precision, energy, and terroir over opulence. The 2023 Meursault is a fine example of the house style, with impressive balance, depth, and freshness. A wine that already offers great pleasure, but also has the structure and potential to develop beautifully over the coming years.

A more modern producer in the well-known Meursault appellation, but certainly a top producer.

Jobard makes Meursault in a cleaner, more mineral style, so if you’re not into the very buttery style, this is definitely where you should look.

An absolutely fantastic wine in the more modern style, which will still make any Meursault lover happy.
