Overture is sourced from Opus One’s meticulously farmed estate vineyards in Napa Valley’s famed Oakville AVA, where gravelly, well-drained alluvial soils and warm days balanced by cool, fog-influenced nights provide ideal conditions for Bordeaux varieties. The blend typically includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec, hand-harvested in small lots to ensure optimal ripeness and selection. In the cellar, each parcel is vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel or oak vats, with careful maceration to extract fine tannins and pure fruit character. The wines are then aged in French oak barrels, a portion of which are new, allowing Overture to gain aromatic complexity, texture, and integration before blending and bottling.

The 2022 Opus One Overture shines alongside refined yet comforting dishes such as grilled ribeye, roast lamb with rosemary, braised short ribs, or duck breast with a dark berry reduction.
