Tasting Notes
As a young vintage, 2022 Masseto is expected to show a deep, concentrated color with impressive density in the glass. The nose typically leans toward dark berries, black cherry, plum, cocoa, sweet spice, and subtle floral nuances, supported by refined oak complexity and mineral undertones. On the palate, it is usually rich and layered, with silky tannins, vivid fruit intensity, and a broad, persistent finish. While already captivating in its youth, Masseto is renowned for its exceptional aging potential and can evolve beautifully over many years, gaining nuance, harmony, and tertiary complexity.

Production
Masseto is produced in Tuscany from a celebrated hillside site known for its clay-rich soils, which play a key role in giving the wine its power, texture, and distinctive character. The vineyard’s terroir is carefully managed to preserve concentration and finesse, and the grapes are harvested by hand to ensure only the best fruit is selected. Vinification is carried out with meticulous precision to emphasize purity of fruit, structure, and elegance.

Food & Serving
Masseto pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as grilled beef, veal, lamb, truffle pasta, and game birds, as well as aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for at least one to two hours if drinking young to help the wine fully open and express its aromatic depth.
