Tasting Notes
Expect a deep, youthful color with excellent concentration. The nose is typically lifted and expressive, with layers of ripe blackcurrant, dark cherry, violets, cedar, and subtle spice, framed by that signature Margaux finesse. On the palate, it should feel polished and silky, with fine tannins, fresh acidity, and a core of ripe red and black fruit balanced by notes of graphite, tobacco, and a discreet oak touch. The 2022 vintage suggests both immediate appeal and strong cellaring potential, especially in magnum format, which should reward patience over many years.

Production
Sourced from younger vines and parcels selected from the broader Château Margaux vineyard, Pavillon Rouge benefits from the estate’s exceptional gravel soils, which are ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon-led Bordeaux blends. Grapes are harvested by hand and rigorously sorted before vinification, with careful extraction and élevage in French oak to preserve purity, structure, and the estate’s hallmark elegance.

Food & Serving
A great match for roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, or game birds, as well as mushroom-based dishes and truffle risotto. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours if opening young, especially to let the wine fully раскры its aromatics and texture.
