Château Margaux draws on some of the most privileged terroir in the Médoc, with deep gravel soils over limestone and clay that provide excellent drainage and naturally low yields—ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon and its Bordeaux companions. The 2022 vintage fruit is hand-harvested in small batches, parcel by parcel, to ensure optimal ripeness and detail, followed by rigorous sorting to retain only the finest berries. Fermentation typically takes place in temperature-controlled vats, with meticulous extraction to preserve aromatic precision and tannin finesse, after which the Grand Vin is aged in a high proportion of new French oak barrels. This careful élevage allows the wine to develop its signature aromatic complexity and silken texture without overshadowing the purity of the fruit or the character of the Margaux terroir.
