Tasting Notes
Expect a wine of deep ruby color with a vibrant, polished edge. The nose typically leans toward ripe red cherry, wild berry, violet, dried herbs, and subtle spice, with a mineral lift that speaks to its hillside origins. On the palate, it is refined yet firmly structured, showing layered red fruit, savory earth, anise, and fine-grained tannins. The finish is long and poised, with the balance and concentration to reward cellar time; it should evolve beautifully over the next 8–15 years, and potentially longer in strong vintages.

Production
Bragantino comes from Monteraponi’s high-altitude vineyards in Chianti Classico, where stony soils, good drainage, and wide diurnal temperature shifts help preserve freshness and aromatic precision. The fruit is typically harvested by hand at optimal ripeness, with careful sorting to preserve only the best grapes. Vinification is carried out with a traditional, restrained approach designed to highlight purity and site expression rather than overt extraction, followed by aging in wood to integrate tannin and build complexity.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for Tuscan classics such as bistecca alla fiorentina, roast lamb, game, mushroom risotto, and aged pecorino. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to help the wine open and soften.
