Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, dark-fruited profile with a polished, serious presence. The nose brings layers of blackberries, plum and black pepper, lifted by herbs, smoke and subtle floral notes. The palate is powerful yet refined, with juicy dark fruit, savory spice and a firm mineral line. Fine-grained tannins and bright acidity keep the wine energetic and well balanced, while the finish is long, complex and slightly saline in feel. It should age gracefully over the next 5–8 years, gaining even more nuance and integration.

Production
Sourced from Bot River, a cool coastal area in South Africa influenced by Atlantic winds, the vineyards benefit from freshness, structure and aromatic precision. The grapes were hand-harvested and carefully selected, then spontaneously fermented with native yeasts to preserve site expression. The wine was matured for around 18 months in used French barriques, a gentle élevage that supports the fruit and terroir without adding overt oak influence.

This Shiraz pairs beautifully with lamb, beef, game and richly seasoned dishes, and it also works well with barbecue or Mediterranean cuisine. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes to open up the spice, fruit and savory complexity.
