Tasting Notes
The wine typically shows a deep, polished ruby to garnet colour in the glass. Aromatically, it is known for layers of dark berries, cassis, plum, cedar, graphite, tobacco, and subtle floral and herbal notes, with a beautifully savoury, mineral edge. On the palate, Dominus Estate is usually full-bodied and beautifully composed, with concentrated black fruit, fine-grained tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, nuanced finish. The 2021 vintage is likely to offer excellent balance and structure, with the depth to develop further in bottle over many years. It has strong aging potential and should reward cellaring for well over a decade.

Production
Produced from the Napanook estate vineyard in Yountville, where well-drained soils and a warm, dry Napa climate support low-yielding fruit with concentration and freshness. Harvesting is typically carried out with great care at optimal ripeness, and vinification emphasizes parcel selection, gentle extraction, and meticulous blending to preserve purity, structure, and the estate’s elegant style.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for prime rib, filet mignon, lamb, braised short ribs, or game dishes, as well as aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young, to allow the wine to खुलly express its aromatics and texture.
