Tasting Notes
Expect a polished, medium-bodied Margaux with a deep ruby core and lifted aromatics. The nose typically shows dark berries, red currant, violets, and subtle cedar and spice, while the palate leans silky and refined, with fresh acidity, fine tannins, and a graceful, layered finish. The 2021 vintage should drink beautifully now with a short decant, but it also has the structure to develop complexity over the next 8–15 years, particularly in magnum.

Sourced from the vineyards of Château Palmer in Margaux, where gravelly soils over clay and limestone encourage depth, freshness, and aromatic precision. As a second wine, Alter Ego is made from carefully selected parcels and younger vines, with harvesting typically done by hand and vinification handled with the same attention to detail as the grand vin, including parcel-by-parcel fermentations and maturation in oak to preserve purity and balance.

Food & Serving
A superb match for roast duck, lamb, beef tenderloin, mushroom dishes, and truffle-inflected cuisine. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for about 1 hour if drinking young; a brief aeration will help open the bouquet and soften the tannins.
