Tasting Notes
In the glass, the 2021 La Petite Église typically shows a deep ruby core with bright youthful reflections. The nose opens with ripe black cherry, plum, violet, and subtle cedar, alongside hints of truffle, cocoa, and fine spice that reflect its Pomerol origins. On the palate, it is supple and finely textured, with ripe dark fruit, silky tannins, and a fresh, lifted structure that keeps the wine energetic and balanced. The finish is elegant and persistent, with mineral and earthy nuances underneath the fruit. While already appealing in its youth, it should gain additional complexity with several years of cellaring.

Made in Pomerol on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, La Petite Église benefits from the region’s clay-and-gravel soils, which are well suited to producing concentrated, supple reds with aromatic depth. The grapes are typically harvested by hand and vinified with the aim of preserving freshness, purity, and the refined character associated with the estate.
