Production
The grapes for Roda I Blanco come from old vineyards planted on limestone-rich soils in Rioja, a terroir that naturally imparts tension, minerality and elegance to white varieties such as Viura, Malvasía de Rioja and Garnacha Blanca. The vineyards are carefully managed, with low yields and selective hand-harvesting to ensure only perfectly ripe, healthy bunches reach the winery. Fermentation takes place in French oak barrels, where the wine then matures for around 18 months, gaining texture, aromatic complexity and subtle spice. After racking and blending, it is further aged for an additional 18 months in bottle before release, allowing the components to fully harmonise and the wine’s character to integrate.

Food & Serving
This is a white wine designed for serious food, pairing beautifully with rich dishes such as roast poultry, veal in cream-based sauces, salt-baked or roasted fish, seared scallops, lobster, and savoury autumn fare like mushroom risotto or truffle-infused dishes. It also works well with aged hard cheeses and delicately spiced Mediterranean cuisine. Serve at 10–12°C to highlight both its freshness and complexity. A short decant of 30–45 minutes in a medium-sized carafe is recommended, especially in its youth, to allow the aromatics to open fully and the oak to meld seamlessly with the fruit.
