The nose is explosive and layered, with waves of blackberries, blueberry compote, and black plum framed by notes of smoked meat, cracked pepper, violets, licorice, and sweet baking spices from high-quality French oak. Subtle hints of graphite, dark chocolate, and dried herbs add further dimension as it opens. On the palate, this is full-bodied and richly textured, with a dense core of dark fruit wrapped in velvety yet substantial tannins. Sourced from top sites across Santa Barbara County—renowned for its cool coastal influence, diverse soils, and long growing season—the 2021 Andremily No. 10 benefits from a terroir that marries richness with freshness. Vineyards in the blend often include parcels on sandy, limestone, and clay-based soils, which naturally limit yields and concentrate flavor. Grapes are typically harvested by hand at optimal ripeness, with careful sorting to ensure only pristine fruit makes it into the cellar. Vinification is crafted for intensity and complexity: a portion of whole clusters may be employed to bring additional spice and structure, followed by a relatively warm, small-lot fermentation to extract color and flavor. The wine is then aged in high-quality French oak barrels, with a generous but well-judged proportion of new oak, allowing the bold fruit and savory character of Syrah (and its blending partners) to integrate and gain polish before bottling.

Decanting is strongly recommended: give it at least 1–2 hours in a decanter in its youth to allow the aromatics to unfurl and the tannins to soften. As it ages, a shorter decant of 45–60 minutes will be sufficient to reveal its full complexity.
