In the glass, it typically shows a bright garnet hue with youthful ruby highlights. On the palate, Monvigliero is usually marked by fine tannins, vibrant acidity, and a silky texture that makes the wine feel both graceful and persistent. Production
Monvigliero is one of the most prized vineyard sites in Verduno, in the northern part of the Barolo zone, known for its limestone-rich marl soils and its ability to produce wines of exceptional perfume and elegance. Vietti’s approach is focused on careful vineyard work and attentive harvesting to preserve the purity and balance of the fruit. Vinification is carried out with the goal of highlighting the site’s natural finesse, allowing the character of Monvigliero to remain front and center in the finished wine.

Food & Serving
This Barolo pairs beautifully with rich Piedmontese dishes such as braised beef, veal shank, truffle risotto, and tajarin with meat sauce, as well as game, mushrooms, and aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to help the wine open fully and soften its structure.
