Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a garnet-red hue with the translucency and sheen characteristic of Nebbiolo. The nose is layered and complex, unfolding with red cherry, wild strawberry, dried rose, licorice, graphite, and earthy spice, with mineral and balsamic nuances adding lift and definition. On the palate, the wine is firmly structured yet refined, with bright acidity and assertive, fine-grained tannins framing flavors of sour cherry, cranberry, tobacco, anise, and crushed stone. It has the concentration and balance to age beautifully for many years, developing greater nuance, savory complexity, and tertiary notes with time in bottle.

Lazzarito is a renowned cru in Serralunga d’Alba, a commune known for producing some of the most powerful and age-worthy Barolos, with iron-rich soils and a cool, continental climate that lend intensity and structure. Vietti works with careful vineyard selection and traditional sensitivity in the cellar, allowing the site’s character to shine through while preserving freshness and aromatic precision.

This is a natural partner for rich, savory dishes such as braised beef, wild boar, truffle risotto, mushroom pasta, and aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for several hours if opening young to help soften the tannins and reveal the wine’s full aromatic range.
