Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a brilliant garnet hue with youthful brightness at the rim. The nose is lifted and complex, with red cherry, wild strawberry, rose petal, violet, spice, and subtle earthy notes that gradually unfold with air. On the palate, expect a refined but powerful Barolo with firm, polished tannins, vibrant acidity, and layered flavors of red berry fruit, licorice, dried herbs, tar, and mineral accents. The finish is long and nuanced, with the structure to reward patience; while approachable with time in bottle, it should gain further complexity over the next 10–20 years.

Cerequio is a prized Barolo cru in the commune of La Morra, known for its marl-rich soils and favorable exposure that help produce wines of fragrance, finesse, and balance. Vietti works with a careful vineyard approach and hand harvesting to preserve fruit quality, followed by traditional vinification that emphasizes gentle extraction and controlled fermentation to maintain purity and site expression.

Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours if opening young to help the aromas and structure fully unfold.
