2020 Cuvée Unser Aufbruch Riesling is a highly limited collaboration that brings together top Rieslings from Rheingau and Rheinhessen in a single, striking cuvée. Created as a symbol of unity and renewal, it combines the precision and depth of three leading German VDP estates into just 360 bottles, making it as collectable as it is distinctive.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright, crystalline profile with a focused and elegant presence. The nose opens with citrus, lime and grapefruit, layered with fresh herbs and a subtle smoky minerality. On the palate, it is precise, tense and beautifully structured, with marked acidity and a distinctly saline core. The finish is long, complex and vibrant, suggesting excellent ageing potential for those who enjoy Riesling with energy and depth.

Production
This cuvée was born in 2020 from a joint project by the VDP wineries Robert Weil, Battenfeld-Spanier and St. Antony. Grapes were selectively harvested by hand from premier vineyard sites in Rheingau and Rheinhessen, then vinified separately in stainless steel and large oak casks with spontaneous fermentation before the finest parcels were blended into the final wine.

Food & Serving
An outstanding match for scallops, turbot or veal fillet, where its freshness and minerality can really shine. It also pairs well with Asian cuisine and mature cheeses; serve chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and decanting is generally not necessary unless you want to open it up slightly in a larger glass.
