Domaine Serene’s Evenstad Reserve is crafted from a selection of top estate vineyard blocks in the Dundee Hills and surrounding AVAs of the Willamette Valley, an area renowned for its volcanic Jory soils, cool maritime influence, and long, gentle growing season—ideal conditions for Pinot Noir. Grapes are typically hand-harvested at optimal ripeness and carefully sorted to ensure only pristine fruit makes it into the final blend. Vinification follows a Burgundian-inspired approach: small-lot fermentations, often with a portion of whole clusters to build structure and aromatic complexity, gentle extraction, and aging in French oak barrels (a significant percentage new) for over a year. The final cuvée is a meticulous barrel selection, blending different vineyard expressions to achieve the house style of elegance, balance, and ageworthiness.
