The nose is remarkably complex for a regional wine: expect layers of ripe orchard fruit (pear, white peach, yellow apple), citrus zest, and white flowers, intertwined with notes of fresh cream, toasted hazelnut, and a fine, chalky minerality. With air, more savoury nuances appear—hints of brioche, wet stone and a delicate herbal lift. On the palate, the wine is precise yet generous, combining a silk-smooth texture with vivid acidity. Sourced from carefully selected parcels in Burgundy, this Bourgogne Blanc reflects the classic Chardonnay terroirs of the region—limestone-rich soils with clay elements that bring both tension and depth. Domaine Leroy is renowned for its strict biodynamic farming, with extremely low yields, meticulous canopy management and hand harvesting carried out at optimal ripeness. In the cellar, Lalou Bize-Leroy’s philosophy is one of minimal intervention: gentle pressing, native yeast fermentation and élevage in high-quality barrels (with judicious use of new oak) allow the wine to express its origin with purity and finesse. Long lees aging adds texture and complexity without sacrificing brightness.
