Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, polished colour and immediately opens with a complex bouquet of cassis, cherry, and red berries, layered with dark chocolate, rose petals, liquorice, and exotic spice. The palate is full-bodied yet silky, with a generous structure of fine, powdery tannins and vibrant acidity that carries the wine through a long, detailed finish. This is a wine of impressive depth and finesse, with excellent ageing potential over many years.

Production
Domaine Trapet farms just under 2 hectares in Chambertin Grand Cru, including some of the oldest vines planted in 1919. The wine is vinified without destemming, a choice that helps preserve the vineyard’s aromatic complexity and gives the wine additional freshness and definition. Chambertin’s exceptional terroir in Gevrey-Chambertin is expressed here with clarity, intensity, and great finesse.

Food & Serving
This is a superb match for refined dishes such as roast duck, pigeon, beef tenderloin, venison, or truffled mushroom dishes. It should be served at around 16-18°C, and decanting is recommended, especially in its youth, to allow the wine’s layered aromatics and structure to fully open.
